Third-party legal liability (limit of $200,000) - If you are found responsible for someone else's injury or damage to their property, then third-party legal liability coverage will pay for claims or damages awarded against you. |
Underinsured motorists protection (limit of $1,000,000)- If you are injured or killed in a motor vehicle accident and are not the at-fault motorist, underinsured motorist protection will provide coverage if the at-fault motorist does not have enough insurance and can't pay the claim. |
Inverse liability - Sometimes, due to legal restrictions, it is not possible to recover the cost of repairs to your vehicle from motorists from other parts of Canada and the United States. Inverse liability will cover those losses to the extent that you are not at-fault. |
Accident benefits - If you are injured in a motor vehicle accident, accident benefits will help with medical costs and wage loss. |
Hit-and-run and uninsured motorists - Automatic coverage up to a maximum of $200,000 is available to anyone whose property is damaged, or who is injured or killed by an uninsured or hit-and-run driver on a highway in BC. This coverage is available to all BC residents regardless of whether they own and insure a vehicle. |
